We are officially kicking off our 10th Anniversary celebration at Tenacious Change!
Tenacious Change LLC began as Tom Klaus & Associates, a sole proprietorship, in 2013 because it was quicker and easier to set up a new business using a personal name rather than one that might already be in use. In 2018 it was recommended that we change the incorporation status to be a Limited Liability Corporation and we seized on the opportunity to give the business a name that reflects more accurately who we are.
So, ten years later…who are we as Tenacious Change?
First, we prioritize working with, for, and on behalf of nonprofit organizations. We can, and do, work with for-profit corporations and businesses, but our “sweet spot” is nonprofits. That is also where our hearts and passions are.
Second, we love to do organizational, community, and system change work. Especially when it is change work which prioritizes inclusion of those most impacted by the change in the decisions about the change.
Third, we believe in the power of collective leadership. Collective leadership means that people in the whole community (those throughout an organization, community, and system) participate meaningfully in change. They are not just “at the table” as “tokens” or for “decoration.”
Fourth, education and development have to take place at all levels if people are to participate meaningfully in organization, community, or system change. It isn’t just the designated “leaders” who need to know how to make change, it is everyone and anyone who is willing to act as a leader.
Fifth, change takes time. It has to emerge and be embraced in new attitudes, new practices, and new policies if it is to be a lasting, impactful change. This is why we are Tenacious Change.
We animate our identity by the work we do. It includes a set of short-term core training and consultation offerings; we deliver our five long-term engagement services; and continue to expand and develop our online courses and training, such as the Tenacious Change Approach. With a diverse group of contract consultants we do everything we can to strengthen the capacity of people in organizations, communities, and systems to collaborate in collective change leadership.
In 2023 there is more to come. Over the next two weeks we’ll be sharing some new developments with you that will make 2023 special for us…and hopefully for you. Stayed tuned!
