It’s got to be said: trying to make change can also provoke disagreement, controversy, or even conflict. For this reason, change makers need a bit of courage and some tolerance for disagreement. We only need “a bit” and “some” as we come to realize that disagreement is part of the change process. Disagreement can even be productive! Productive Disagreement increases participation in change, ownership of the change, and often results in change that garners even wider support. In Lesson 8 of Getting Started with the Tenacious Change Approach, we focus on the nature of Productive Disagreement, understanding the natures of controversy and conflict, and how to reduce the risk of disagreement becoming destructive.
Each week, until we launch the full Getting Started with the Tenacious Change Approach streaming video course in September, we are featuring a brief video on one of the ten essential operating principles of the Tenacious Change Approach. This video is an introduction to the seventh lesson in the series.

Tenacious Change Website Upgrade and Update
We’ve been doing some updating and upgrading of our website. If you haven’t been there for a while, check it out here. It isn’t finished yet, but we think you are going to like what we’ve been doing.
While you are there, check out our Consultation, Workshop, and Training page where you can learn about our core offerings and services. On the first page of that section, we offer some questions to help you think through what you need and how we can help. We also have an attractive PDF version of this section you can download, print, and share with others on your team or in your organization.
Now, how can we help you make change happen for the greater good in your community or organization?
